In the midst of planning my Thanksgiving cocktail menu and picking up supplies, I spotted a late 40 something cougar-ish delight squeezing melons and rubbing gourds for what appeared to be her Turkey Day Cornucopia and I thought to myself,”Damn… I would like to be her horn of plenty.” So to simmer myself down and commence my “Dranks-giving” I mixed up an old classic, that I present to you for your imbibing pleasure, as tonight’s Drink du Nuit, called the Harvest Sling.
DRINK du NUIT: The HARVEST SLING
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 oz Laird’s Bonded Apple Brandy
1/2 oz Sweet Vermouth
1/2 oz Benedictine
1/2 oz Cherry Heering

GLASS: Collins
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a chilled shaker, shake with ice and strain into the chilled Collins glass filled with ice.

If you like a little more complexity in this drink then splash a little aromatic bitters and savor the flavor.
