Cuffing Season

Honey Let me Hold You

The Leaves have changed, the Winds are brisk, and Night greets us a little earlier each day. It’s officially cuffing season. What’s cuffing season you ask? It’s that time of year when people, who typically proudly waive the I’m single and free to mingle flag, find themselves desperately hunting for that, “We can stay in a watch a movie ‘boo'”; that “Why don’t you come over and I’ll cook you a hot meal ‘wifey’ type”; that “I don’t have anywhere else I want to be cuddle ‘bae'”; that I don’t control my heat in this apartment so why don’t you get closer and share my blanket ‘bed warmer'”.

Some blame the cold weather, some chalk it up to prolonged periods of indoor isolation, but perhaps people are in search of serious relationship because cuffing season coincides with the Holiday season, Gala season, and Dinner party season where everyone is all about family, legacy, strengthening bonds, and recovering from the bitter cold emptiness of a summer fling that’s flung. For the cuffless, the summer-to-fall-to winter period is a painful reminder of long gone sun soaked afternoons, fruit honeyed lips of chilled martini glasses, the abundance of sparkling people mirroring the sparkle in their glass, and the general okay-ness of odd number table reservations.

To aid the transition of those who missed cuffing preseason and now find themselves cuff-less and in need of a liquid hug, I present to you for your imbibing pleasure, a luscious libation to warm you up on a cold night, the Drink du Nuit: Honey Let Me Hold You Cider
